Windsor Housing Prices Expected to Continue to Rise in 2020
According to a new report, housing prices in Windsor could go up by as much as 9% next year. In their Canadian housing market outlook, RE/MAX has stated that Windsor continues to have an extremely hot housing market, and that this is expected to continue into 2020. With the Windsor region experiencing an 11% increase in the average sales price of a home in 2019 and the expected increase next year, Essex County remains a very strong seller’s market.  Among the factors that are expected to contribute to the continued increase in housing prices in 2020 are the population growth in the region, increased development, economic resilience, increased interest from buyers coming from other regions and fewer listings being available. Young professionals are also choosing the Windsor region in increasing numbers thanks to the affordable housing prices relative to larger cities.  While all of Essex County could be in line for higher housing prices, LaSalle has been singled out as one of the communities…

How New Real Estate Regulations in Ontario Could Benefit You
If you’re buying or selling a home in Ontario, there are plans in place to update the rules of real estate that you should know about. These rules, which fall under the Trust in Real Estate Services Act, 2019 and would be an update to the Real Estate and Business Brokers Act, 2002 (REBBA) , are designed to provide greater protections for consumers when they’re buying or selling properties. The Real Estate Council of Ontario (RECO) is mandated by the Government of Ontario to protect buyers and sellers who are working through a registered brokerage, and these new rules provide RECO with more of an ability to protect consumers throughout their real estate transactions.  Proposed Changes to Ontario Real Estate Rules  There are a number of changes that are part of the new announced rules that will affect how you buy or sell real estate, including: More clarity for both buyers and sellers so they know whether they are represented by a brokerage, or if they are self-represented; New disclosures…
